Ear cartilage is generally used for reshaping the nasal tip. However, when enhancing the nasal bridge through the Cogelco approach, the use of rib cartilage may be indicated to achieve optimal results.

Q Doesn’t grafted cartilage spread and become hard to remove later?

While the quick procedure may resemble filler treatment, COGELCO cartilage is firmly grafted as a single structure. It doesn’t spread, and if revision is needed, removal is just as straightforward as with traditional ear cartilage grafts.

Q Doesn’t the nose tip sag without a strut?

Instead of stacking large cartilage blocks, COGELCO uses fine ear cartilage particles arranged in a lattice-like structure. This design significantly reduces the risk of collapse or downward pressure over time. Between the particles, the body naturally fills in with collagen, blood vessels, and soft tissue, which reinforces the structure. Thanks to this technique, the nose tip maintains its shape—while still allowing a natural, soft feel to the touch.

Q I’ve had a thread lift procedure on my nose before. Will the thread need to be removed prior to undergoing Cogelco rhinoplasty?

In cases where the thread is protruding or visible, it can be removed during Cogelco rhinoplasty. However, if there are no significant complications, the dorsal threads may be retained without affecting the procedure.
