What is salivary gland removal?
The salivary glands are largely divided into the parotid gland, sublingual gland, and submandibular gland. Salivary gland removal, which is performed for a clear jawline rather than a disease, is a surgery to remove part of the submandibular gland located under the double chin.
Due to aging, sagging occurs, or in some cases, after facial contouring surgery, the ligaments attached to the bones and salivary glands become loose, causing the salivary glands to bulge and sag, collapsing the jawline or creating a double chin.
Even if there is no sagging after facial contouring surgery, it is difficult to improve salivary glands that bulge and create a thick jawline with Botox. If the sagging salivary glands are partially removed and reduced, the jawline and overall facial contour will become distinct and slimmer.
